How is global warming affecting the environment

How is global warming affecting the environment

Global warming is one of the most important issues facing the world today. Countries all around the globe are feeling the effects of current global warming trends. It is not a problem that can be blamed on one person or nation, but instead a crisis that everyone should take a moment to reflect on. Over the past century the planet has warmed up significantly. Scientists have studied how fast the earth the earth is heating up, and have seen the effects it has on agriculture and the climate. In fact, over the past couple years, several current figures and trends have shown a rise in sea levels, the melting of ice caps, and the substantial increase in natural disasters and climate changes. All these seem to be directly related to global warming and its impact on the planet. The effects of global warming are tremendous, and if people do not begin to do something about it, global warming could lead to the end of the world as we know it. In this paper I plan to cover the effects of global warming, as well as how mankind contributes to it. The paper will also include ways to reduce global warming and how simple changes to one’s lifestyle could benefit everyone.

One must first get a good understanding of the global warming as a whole before going into depth about its effects. Global warming is the “observed and projected increase in globally averaged temperatures over time” Scientists have been able to measure the warming of the earth through satellites and surface stations. From these measurements the scientists have identified an increasing trend in surface air temperature over the past years. In fact, over the past 15 years, scientists have recorded the hottest decade and the top three hottest years ever documented. They reported that 1990 was the warmest decade ever,...
