2015 -A Year of Spark

2015-A Year of Spark

An important part of my life has just passed by, making me a year older. I can say the year 2015 has been a different year for me, it has been a different experience altogether. We actually never know when things change around in life, it just happens when we expect the least. My New Year’s resolution for 2015 had been a huge one, as everyone else plan, I had planned to be hardworking, smart and successful. But everything fades out just in a matter of few days, I was no different, I went back to living my same old life. But this year had something special for me and that spark did not let me remain the same.
I was a happy-go-lucky girl with a dream of being happy in life. I was more to myself with just a couple of friends and a loving family. I never had thoughts about crossing my boundaries or doing something which could make me respectable. During the course of my studies in the late graduation and early days of post-graduation in 2015 things started to change a lot. I started speaking to new people and making good friends, slowly my networks grew. I had my people wherever I went, college, church or events. My communication and confidence improved, I started feeling better and open about myself and my abilities. I enjoyed every moment of my life as I was feeling I am capable of doing every possible things. I got into dancing, joined choir groups, attended parties, presented seminars, presentations and lot more things. People started getting attracted to me because they could notice a change in my lifestyle. Life appeared more beautiful in 2015 than any time before.
My aim now is to participate in every activity possible and make myself a complete individual so that I need not depend on anyone during my life. I have learned a lot in 2015 and have grown a lot. I feel if we take inspiration in small things around us we can make ourselves happier and be an example to others. Therefore I would like to end my article on 2015-A year of Spark by saying life gives us an opportunity to improve when we expect the least and if we grab the opportunity and make a change in our life we are bound to be successful.

LINKING THE SENTENCES TOGETHER

                                            LINKING THE SENTENCES TOGETHER

Introduction
In fourth chapter of this book it tells that how to connect the various single sentences is explained connecting the two sentences is not simple, one should make the sentences that provides flow of thoughts and it should not make other person confused.

My learnings
We should express our thoughts ideas to the other person without causing them to be in confusion. The way we express our idea should be continuous. Like we connect the various picture words in the sentences by connecting words, we have to connect the various sentences through connecting words. Non-word connectors are the punctuations used in the sentence which bind the two sentences together. These are the some of aspects that I learnt from the fourth chapter.

Known fact
Before reading the fourth chapter one thing that I am aware of is to make an effective communication one should have the proper connection between the two sentences. Without proper connection between the various sentences one cannot express his views or ideas. But I dint knew about the various connecting words that can be used in connecting the sentences.

Correcting my mistake
By learning about the connecting words I use different connecting words in my writing skill, even in my blog post I edit some of the sentences where there is no connection between the two sentences, I use linking, condensed, or non-word connector which is appropriate to that place.

Implementation
Here I can say how I use the connecting words in other words. For example, if I want to explain that sharehplders are the owners of the company. They gets the dividend if the company earns profit.

Conclusion
Connecting the sentence is all that I learnt in the fourth chapter. So it is and will be helpful for me to write or express my ideas or opinion. I can use the different connecting words in different places.

HOW TO DEVELOP YOUR FLOW OF THOUGHT.

HOW TO DEVELOP YOUR FLOW OF THOUGHT

Summary:
this chapter tells that there are 2 ways of elaborating sentences first one  Reason why  and second one is narrative sequence. Grammar is the tool we use to tie our idea and express it in beautiful way. It includes 3 steps choosing core idea, choosing the way we to elaborate it, choosing the way we are going to bridge it into core idea.

New things I learnt
·         What is the core idea
·         How is it elaborated
·         How is it summarized
·         How is it transferred to write core idea

Things that I already knew

v  Paragraph are the collection of sentences, it also has upper limit
v  Both grammar and connector are concerned with one goal- to transfer thought into other’s mind.
v    When we shift from one core idea to other, we change the focus. It is arbitrary
v  Instruction is the process of teaching someone how to do something.
v  Emphasis on certain thoughts can be made to stand out if they have their own paragraph.

Mistakes made when answering the questions
·         Solved questions in group.
·         Not able to understand the questions

Concept applied to other subjects:
I want to connect this to our marketing plan. We had to do a market plan for our newly launching product. He had to submit a report on it. He gave a clear instruction on how to do this at the begging itself. He said to first think about innovative product, then to prepare a questionnaire, conduct survey and other step by step process. He made us clear about what and all should be done to get a final outcome. His instructions helped us to complete the report on time.

HOW TO USE CLARITY PRINCIPLE

                                         HOW TO USE CLARITY PRINCIPLE

Summary:
this chapter tells that how symbolism and suspense build it into our writing. And how to use clarity principle .when we made our communication properly to the point then only it met to proper decision.

New things that I have learnt from this chapter:
  • §   Pivot words are the special title to multiple meaning word
  • §    Meaning of symbolism and allegory
  • §    Once we see the source of this wit, we can start seeking out such pivot words too.
  • §    Pun gives 2 meaning- we get the meaning of the original sentence and get the meaning of new sentences
  • §    Clarity results when we restricts a pilot word to only 1 meaning
  • §    Whole range of reinforcing double meanings contained in single word - metaphor

Things that I already know
Clarity results when we restrict a pilot word to only one meaning, And Ambiguity results when we restrict a pilot word to more than one meaning. Different kind of meaning was chosen to give different effect.

HOW TO WRITE CLEARLY

                                                   HOW TO WRITE CLEARLY

Summary:
If we write clearly we can make our communication immediately in simple and clear way. From this chapter we added clarity technique to the simplicity technique and made sure that our images can’t be misunderstood.

New things that I have learnt from this chapter:
Without picture word our sentence is empty and without connecting word they are misunderstood. When the relationships  In sentences are immediately understood by our reader then our they  are simple . If our images are immediately understood by our reader then our sentences are clear . It is important to remove the word that is causing misinterpretation

Things that I already know
*        Goal of the grammar is communication  , Communication Is the act of transmitting our own understanding to someone else.A picture word or phrase is clear when it has on

        Concept applied to other subjects:
*        We can make our communication immediately understanding by making it simple and clear:
I want to connect this to presentation made on the day of national conference in our college by one of our seniors. She made her presentation clear by explaining all  the important points and simple by using not much sentences in it. It was a nice presentation and it could be easily understood.
*

Concept applied to other subjects:

HOW TO AVOID MONOTONY

                                HOW TO AVOID MONOTONY

Summary:
this chapter is about how to balance the simplicity. In this chapter, I learnt how to take sentence so repetitious and short that they were annoying the reader and transform them into longer sentence. It also explains how simplicity is vital that variety.

New things that I have learnt
·         Ways to avoid the monotony-Variety and emphasis
·         We can use the image as the actor, action, things acted upon, results of action
·         If words are simple and image are visual then the sentences can be longer
·         If words are difficult and image abstract, sentences must be short
·         Simplicity is always vital than variety.

Things that I already knew about, that were given
Repetition is the process of repeating important words, image each time again and again to hold our reader’s attention
Emphasis helps to make our reader to concentrate more on certain aspects
Emphasis allows us to shorten them

Concept applied to other subjects:
Our group did a ppt presentation on certain topic. At that time we dint know how should be a ppt presentation. What are the requirements etc. We used different design for different slides to make it unique. Concerned lecture told us to make it simple by using single design for all the slides. Variety is necessary but to make it more professional it should be simple.

HOW TO WRITE SIMPLY

                                              HOW TO WRITE SIMPLY

Summary

This chapter tell us to write a simple sentence  and how to make a complex lengthy sentence to simple sentence . simple sentence can be easily understand by anyone who reads or listen to it. And simplicity is the ratio between numbers of words in it and the number of connecting words in it.

New things that I have learnt from this chapter:
·         Repetition can be used to detail a process, to show its development
·         Dependent sentence is automatic, natural language device shows 2 main types  of relationship-1.Time 2. Cause and effect
·         Connector gives stronger tie- in between the 2 word picture.

Things that I already knew about, that were given in the chapter:
·         When a sentence includes more connector then it is  simple sentence
·         We try to crowd too much into our sentence, we do this without knowing
·         To make the sentence simple, we can repeat it
·         A simple procedure produce simple sentence
·         Causes of the difficulty can be corrected

Mistakes made when answering
  •              Not much mistakes
  •             We discussed answer for this in group

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT LENGTH FOR YOUR SENTENCES

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT LENGTH FOR YOUR SENTENCES

Summary
This chapter deals with short sentences and this chapter also explains how to make sentences as a short as possible. And it also tells about how each sentence suits our thought and how awareness of this adjust the length gives much simple ,clearness as you want.

New things I learnt
Each of our sentence needs to have only enough words in it to be understood and  it should be effective ,good in one word Adjust the length of the sentences can create awareness to our thought .Sentence can get much of its meaning from the preceding sentences.

Things that I already knew
What Sentence we are writing that should  have the meaning .And it should make sense, If we feel our sentence is lengthy then we can break it down to different other sentences. Second sentence must have connector, no matter how long it is or short

Mistakes made when answering the questions
Some question is difficult to understand and other answers are copied from my friend, some answers were directly.

Concept applied to other subjects
I want to connect this to my financial accounting subject.  When I was preparing myself for accounts exam i just went through one of the sentences about depreciation. The sentence was like “so land cannot be depreciated”. I dint understand this sentence, and then I went back to the previous sentence to get its meaning. When I had a look into that preceding sentence I got to know why land cannot be depreciated.

HOW TO BUILD UNDERSTANDING INTO EVERY SENTENCE YOU USE

HOW TO BUILD UNDERSTANDING INTO EVERY SENTENCE YOU USE

Summary
The 4th chapter in “Brilliance Breakthrough” is   How to build understanding into every sentence you use. This chapter is all about what are the types of connector which we can use after each sentence, how to use them. Connecting the two sentences is not simple, one should make the sentences that provide flow of thoughts, and it should not make other person confused. The fourth chapter explains all this in detail.

My learning
Without creating confusion we should express our thought to other person. And the way we express our idea it should be continuous. And I learn that we should connect the various sentences picture words in the sentences by connecting words. Non-word connectors are the punctuations used in the sentence which bind the two sentences together. These are the some of aspects that I learnt from the fourth chapter.

Known fact
Before reading this chapter I knew that communication is more important in between two person  so we should connect two sentences properly.

Correcting my mistake
After reading this chapter I got to my mistake and I start to use different writing skill  in my writing, where there is no connection between the two sentences, I use linking, condensed, or non-word connector which is appropriate to that place.

 Implementation
Here I can say how I use the connecting words in other words. Whenever there is repetition beyond certain limit we feel irritated.  I want to connect this to marketing.
Example: if same sales man come to our home and forcing us to take same product at that time we feel irritating

Conclusion
I would like to conclude that Connecting the sentence is all that I learn in the fourth chapter. So it is and will be helpful for me to write or express my ideas or opinion.
